Certified Peer Support Training (Closed Training)

Certified Peer Support Training is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide support to others who are experiencing similar life challenges, particularly in the context of mental health and substance use recovery. This training emphasizes the value of lived experience and fosters a supportive community.


Requirements

  • 1 year of lived experience in recovery from a substance use or Mental Health diagnosis

  • 2- letters of reference (one of them from a clinical or other professional)

  • All apps for this training must be approved and sent to UAPSS by the Utah state Office of Substance Use and Mental Health. To apply for a Certified Peer support training please submit all apps through their website OSUMH

On June 14th 2017 a dream was born & Utah’s Association of Peer Support Specialists was founded by Peers for Peers, with the belief that a united Peer support workforce is essential to the continued success of all we/you do for the Mental health and Substance use populations of Utah. Our goal was to unite all Peer Specialist and agencies towards a successful and integrated workforce across the state of Utah

UAPSS envisions a future where “together” peer support services are seamlessly integrated into every Agency and community across Utah, thereby creating a robust network that is both accessible and effective. Our goal is to help you foster an environment where individuals in recovery can find the support they need to thrive, and where peer support specialists are empowered with the Self-care, resources and training necessary to make a meaningful impact.

  • You provide a safe drop in center that is run by Peer Support Specialists for People to come to in times of minor crisis
