About UAPSS
Recovery Grows Through Connection
The Utah Association of Peer Support Specialists (UAPSS) is a peer-led nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening recovery, expanding peer support, and creating meaningful opportunities for people throughout Utah.
UAPSS was founded in 2016 by people with lived experience who understood that recovery requires more than services—it requires hope, connection, opportunity, and someone willing to walk beside you. In 2019, UAPSS became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Our work is rooted in a simple belief: people can recover, build meaningful lives, and become powerful sources of hope for others.

To guide, provide, and advance peer support services that promote and support all pathways of recovery throughout Utah.
Vision
We envision a Utah where no one has to face recovery alone and peer support is available in every community.
UAPSS is working to build a strong, skilled, and resilient peer support workforce while helping agencies develop effective, recovery-oriented peer services. By connecting peer specialists, organizations, and communities, we can create a stronger statewide network built on shared purpose, mutual support, and lived experience.
Our vision is a Utah where lived experience is valued as expertise, peer specialists are supported in their work, agencies have the tools to succeed, and every person has the opportunity to find hope, stability, connection, belonging, and purpose.
